Time to Fill Those Empty Spaces

According to YourParkingSpace.co.uk hundreds of hotels across the UK are onto a nice little earner. They're offering their spare parking capacity up for rent.
Around 250 hotels, including big names such as Novotel, Holiday Inn and Thistle are now utilizing YourParkingSpace.co.uk’s online parking service, and in some cases earning more than £3,000 a month.
YourParkingSpace.co.uk was founded in 2013 specifically as an online marketplace that features driveways, private off-street parking spaces, lock-up garages. Last year, it signed a 15-month partnership with NCP, and began offering hourly and daily pre-booking at car parks and parking spaces nationwide.
Harrison Woods, managing director at YourParkingSpace.co.uk says: “By the nature of their business, hotels tend to be located near to tourist hotspots and transport hubs where parking is always at a premium. Some hotels have seized the opportunity, and are now making significant amounts of money from their unused parking spaces.”
With lots of new competition now plying for the more traditional hotel trade, hotels are having to try new things to increase income and reduce their costs and renting out unused parking spaces is a simple way of doing so.
However, as Woods points out, there are still many more hotels across the country who are losing out on this lucrative revenue source. Not to mention perhaps, motor dealerships?
